New Features For Summerwind Shutters!

All changes are effective May 1, 2008
New sampling to be released in June

Elliptical Shape Adds Strength
and Beauty To Louvers

A new elliptical shape for Summerwind louvers provides a new more modern appearance and increased stability at wider widths. In fact, this new shape allows us to make wider panels in polysatin shutters than ever before —up to 36 inches wide. The new louver shape is used for all louver sizes and with either the traditional tilt-bar or the optional ClearLight™ hidden tilt system.

Stronger Tilt-bar With Seamless Caps

Along with the new shape you will notice new, significantly stronger tilt-bar connectors when the traditional tilt-bar is specified over the ClearLight™ hidden tilt system. The new connectors give a firmer feel to the function of tilting the louvers.

To reduce visible seams new seamless tilt-bar end caps are now being used. The new press fit caps insert into each end of the tilt bar. The width, length and thickness of the head of the caps have been decreased so that it is nearly invisible.

New Color: Irish Cream

A rich new color, Irish Cream, has been added to the Summerwind collection. As with our other colors, Snow, Pearl and Antique White, the descriptive names make it easier to sell Summerwind by helping your customer to visualize and remember the color.

New Panel Lock™ Closure

Summerwind Shutters now feature a new Panel Lock™ system for easier installation with no unsightly magnets. The spring loaded button and ramp mechanism provides improvements for day-to-day use by making it easier to open and close panels. It is much easier to install than magnetic catches.

New Decorative Frames

New frame options for Summerwind make it even easier to install for more types of windows. The new Deluxe Trim Frame is for inside mount openings with drywall returns and without trim. It may be ordered with a sill frame at the bottom for windows with a protruding window sill. The B-Frame is used for outside mount applications. It is installed on the wall or directly on top of existing trim. Installation screws set through the face of the frame and covered with snap-in trim.
