Last fall, a new universal headrail for Applause® and Duette® LiteRise® products was introduced. With the new design a new type of mounting bracket was introduced as well. When properly installed, the bracket holds very securely, but it is possible to hear a snap that causes you to believe the headrail is fully installed when it is not.

The Hunter Douglas Professional Installers program has released special edition of the Technically Speaking newsletter with a video that details some of the issues with this bracket. It shows how you can be sure LiteRise shades are completely installed. Be sure to watch this video and share it with the installers that work with you.

In addition to the information on the video, Designer Blinds recommends the use of #6 hex head screws for ceiling or wall mounts. Be sure screws are fully tightened and flat against the bracket surface. Larger screws and screws that are skewed may interfere with the installation.
