When
Silhouette shadings are ordered with PowerRise as an
outside mount, the Satellite Battery Pack MUST be
used. There is a little used option for
attaching Satellite Battery Packs to the headrail of
the shading, though, that almost completely hides the
battery pack but keeps it in a good place for changing
batteries and eliminates the need to hide a wire.
This technique should be used when the windows are
reasonably close to the ground so that there is good
access to the batteries. A simple top-treatment
will take it completely out of sight. For
extremely high and and out of reach windows that can't
be accessed with a step ladder, it would be better to
use a Satellite Battery Pack with a longer wire set,
the AC power supply option or the hardwired motorized
Silhouette system.
Attach
The Battery Pack To The Battery Pack Mounting Brackets

When
the order is placed, ask for two Battery Pack
Mounting Brackets for each outside mount
Silhouette shading you will be attaching this way.
There is no additional charge for Top Mount Brackets,
but they must be specified. Before you
attach the base of the Satellite Battery Pack, make
sure the wires are oriented toward the motor housing.
The Satellite Battery Pack is attached directly to the
Top-Mount Bracket with the screws provided.
Attach
The Assembly To The Headrail

Use
the wires from the Satellite Battery Pack to place the
unit in position on the headrail so that you will be
able to have enough slack on the wire to attach it to
the motor assembly. The entire assembly will now
slide on to the headrail and be permanently and
securely pressed into place.
Connect
To The Motor, Then Put The Batteries In
The
Satellite Battery Pack is then plugged into the motor
assembly. Attach batteries after this connection
is secure.

from above and below:

When
it is all together you can see that it is held to the
back of the shading and will not interfere with the
installation in any way. When placed over a
window, as you can see below, the Satellite Battery
Pack attached this way is slightly visible, depending
on your point of view of the window. To lessen
the visibility, Satellite battery packs can be painted
or covered with wallpaper. Soft top treatments
can also take it out of view and still keep it just as
accessible.
