What's This?

It's A Groovy
Kind Of Blind!

You can do ordinary blinds in an ordinary room, but if you want a room to be something special turn toward new Fontana Ridge™ wood blinds.

Available June 1, 2006

New Fontana Ridge wood blinds are anything but ordinary. The name "Fontana" means "fountain" and like water rippling from a fountain, Country Woods Expose’ Fontana Ridge blinds have a unique slat shape that allows each Fontana Ridge blind to create its own natural flow for each window in which it is placed. Fontana Ridge is the fourth collection in the Country Woods Exposé series, which also includes the Bella Royale, Refined, and Castaway collections.

The unique 2-1/2” slat design with its contoured edge adds depth, dimension and character. The slat, valance and bottom rail are moulded and finished in North America and are made from 100% genuine hardwood.

The Fontana Ridge collection is comprised of 10 fine furniture-quality finishes. The finishing process is sophisticated and, compared to other wood blind lines, complicated. There are nine finishing steps to achieve this unique look. A powder-glaze is applied generously to the slat groove to accentuate it and lightly overall to the slat, valance and bottom rail for added dimension. The end result is that each slat, valance and bottom rail is truly one-of-a-kind.

Create ambiance in any room by changing the amount and direction of light that enters the room by tilting the wood slats up or down.

Slats tilted down, as shown to the left, direct light downwards while slats tilted up to the back, as shown on the right, direct light upwards and give the blind a completely different appearance. In this position the grooves etched into each slat are visible but the contoured edge of the slat is not.

Above Fontana Ridge blinds is a unique 3½-inch tall valance profile that adds to the classic appeal. It is installed using the same concealed valance clips that other Hunter Douglas wood blind programs use. This profile may also be ordered as a stand-alone cornice to use over other Hunter Douglas products.

Even the wood tassels (left) add to the appeal of Fontana Ridge blinds and provide a nice finishing touch. They are color coordinated and shaped to complement the contour of the slats.

Design Options

• Traditional routed blinds are standard, de-Light and decorative tapes are optional.

• Cord tilt is standard while wand tilt is not available.

• May be upgraded to PowerTilt™, a Hunter Douglas battery-operated motorized tilt system.

• Decorative Tapes:

One of the differentiating features of all Country Woods Exposé collections is the ability to add unique and fashion forward decorative tapes. There are 12 exclusive decorative tapes in the Fontana Ridge collection in five different patterns: jacquard,  flowered-paisley, a solid-color texture, a faux suede and an eclectic design. Like all Country Woods wood blinds, The trims are sewn to the underlying tape for better blind closure and a more finished appearance.
