Silhouette...
No Matter What Shape Your Window Is In
Silhouette Specialty Shapes Are Far Easier To Install Than Ever Before

Silhouette® shadings are a beautiful treatment for rectangular windows.  But now they are better than ever for most specialty windows, too!  Silhouette shadings provide ultraviolet protection to protect furnishings, reduce glare and provide comfort while keeping in step with the rectangular windows likely to be found in the same room.  From an installation standpoint it's even better.  The tricky methods of the past are gone forever and these specialty shapes install effortlessly for a great approach to specialty shapes that can be completed in mere minutes.

Silhouette can be made to fit into the most popular types and sizes of arches and angles.  Now they can be fit into ovals, circles octagons, hexagons, trapezoids and more as shown here.

As illustrated, the vanes of Silhouette Specialty shadings are stationary and fixed in the open position.  With the vanes open, Silhouette shadings block about 65% of the sun's ultraviolet rays --enough to keep carpet and furnishings from damage.

Tricky No More

Installation has been significantly improved, and along with it the final product looks great with a minimal effort

To install an arch shade, for example, a carriage (right) is attached by the factory.

Insert the support clips into the carriage, mark for your holes then drive the screws in leaving the heads exposed.  the keyhole clip slides directly onto the screws and that's all it takes.  Compared to the previous version of Silhouette arch, that's about a 75% or better reduction in installation time and typically requires no further adjustment. (See installation instructions for complete details.)

The same technique, using a top channel and a free-hanging bottom rail is used for these shapes as well:

For these shapes, two channel mounts are used. One at the top and one at the bottom:

A slightly different technique using a stop strip is used for the following shapes

This method is equally easy. Brackets to accept the fabric support clips are placed in the window, using the fabric clips as a template.
