Powerful New Option
For Vignette
®

The traditional look of Roman shades with the wireless operational magic of PowerRise is now available from Vignette window shadings!

No Plugs • No Cords • No Hassle

Vignette with PowerRise, the battery operated remote control operating system, is available as of June 1 with all Vignette fabric styles – including EveScape room darkening.  It is ideal for bedrooms, media rooms and hard to reach windows. Like the other PowerRise products, it is easy to install, operate and maintain. Cordless and wireless design features eliminate the potential for child and pet safety hazards. Vignette with PowerRise is covered by the Hunter Douglas Lifetime Limited Warranty – 5 years for PowerRise components and circuitry

To keep it simple, there are several similarities to the existing PowerRise systems available for Duette Honeycomb shades and Silhouette window shadings.  First, Vignette with PowerRise operates using the same remote control as is used with Silhouette and Duette with PowerRise.  It offers the same two channel option, which allows adjacent or stacked shadings to operate independently.  A built-in infrared eye, or an optional satellite eye activates the operation of the shading.

18 Volts
One major difference in the Vignette system is the power of the system. Due to the fabric weight, to achieve a 12 to 18 month battery life, an 18-volt system powers the battery operated Vignette shadings. Silhouette with PowerRise and Duette with PowerRise are both 12-volt systems. So you will notice that there are more batteries, totally 12, used to operate Vignette shadings with PowerRise

Easy-to-use connectors are a special feature unique to Vignette and come with both the battery wand and satellite battery pack.

Power Options:
The first power option is the built-in Battery Wand. With this option, each Vignette shading uses 12 AA batteries to power the shading.  This battery is standard with inside and end mounts. It is NOT available with outside mounts due to the increased mounting depth required for the battery wand.  The battery wand clips easily to the rear of the headrail. It adds a half-inch to the fully recessed mounting depth.  In most cases the battery wand can be removed to replace batteries while the shading is still in the window. There is an optional back cover available to conceal the wand from outside view. If the back cover is to be used, remember that it adds 1/8” to the mounting depth

The second power option is the Satellite Battery Pack. Again, this option requires twelve AA batteries to power the shading. The satellite battery pack is provided as standard with outside mounted shadings.  It is also available as an option for inside and end mounted shadings. It has no affect on the mounting depth.  The satellite battery pack allows easy access to the batteries and offers a choice of mounting locations. The Vignette battery pack comes in wire lengths of 15”, 4’ or 8’ to accommodate most installations

The third power option is the AC transformer. This option eliminates the need for batteries all together It is optional with all mounting styles. It does not increase the mounting depth.  The transformer converts normal 110-volt household power into 12-volt DC power to operate the shadings. Initially the 12-volt system will operate slightly slower than the battery operated options because it requires less actual power. This is the same transformer as is used with Luminette Privacy Sheers and is available in the same wire lengths of 12’, 16’ or 25’

Daisy Chaining
A unique feature to Vignette with PowerRise shadings is Daisy Chaining which allows up to three shadings to be linked or "daisy-chained" together using a single AC transformer.  The final connections are made with the shadings installed in the window for easy installation. Three wire lengths - 15”, 5’ or 8’ - are available.  It is recommended that wires be routed behind the wall for a more finished look.

Vignette with PowerRise will be available June 1, 2005 in single panel standard and single panel EveScape shadings only. It will not be available in our multi-panel or Two-On-One Headrail options. Also, it is not possible to add PowerRise to Vignette shadings in the field.
