Plug In To
PowerGlide!

Installing The Easy Motorization
Option For Luminette Privacy Sheers

OF ALL THE motorized products offered by Hunter Douglas, the PowerGlide motor for Luminette Privacy Sheers is one of the easiest to install.  Here's a step by step look at installing PowerGlide with a video demonstration as well

Install The Luminette SofTrak
As with any other Luminette, The SofTrak™ is installed first.  Be sure to install the brackets at the exact height so they are level with each other and make sure there are no variations in depth for outside or inside mount.  To check the depth, try running a string across the brackets to make sure that it is always an equal distance in depth.  An irregular surface may require shims to get the spacing just right.
Outside Mount

Be sure to be precise in
setting the height.

Attach the First
Spacer Block To the Wall

Snap on up to three additional spacers which add ½" of depth each.

An extension bracket with a ceiling mount bracket can provide additional extension if needed.

Leveling is important on all Luminette Sheers, but even more so for PowerGlide. An irregular shape could cause the motor to stall.

If the surface is irregular, shims may be required to get the brackets installed just right.

Inside Mount

Check the level of the inside mount opening before you place brackets. Use shims if needed to align the brackets.

Measure to ensure that all brackets are an equal distance from the back.

Install the Track

Attach the AC Transformer and the Satellite Eye but do NOT plug the power supply into the wall yet.

After the connections are made, run the wires through the guard to keep them from pulling out as you install the SofTrak.

Place the Track into the brackets.

Test Before The Vanes Are Attached
By testing the operation of the track BEFORE you attach the vanes, you'll be able to make any adjustments much more quickly and without the hassle of moving the vanes.

After the SofTrak is installed, plug the power supply into a standard wall outlet

Set The Remote Control to the Traverse (or Channel 2) position.  Press the down button to  traverse the carriers across the track.  If the motor seems to slow or  stall near a bracket, it may indicate an irregular depth or non-level track.

Switch the Remote Control to Tilt (Channel 1) and test the tilt operation of the carriers in both directions by pressing the down and up buttons.  Watch the carriers to make sure they are aligned and move uniformly.

Attach the Satellite Eye in a position to which the owner will be able to point the remote control directly.  Angle the satellite eye if necessary.

Attach the vanes to the carriers. And repeat all tests once all vanes are attached.

Use the C-Clamps provided to discretely attach the cable from the power supply.

If it looks easy —that's because it is.  Be sure to offer PowerGlide to all of your Luminette customers.
