What's This?

Get Into Shape
This Spring!

Or At Least Get Into SHAPED WINDOWS

Are you into shapes?   As the weather gets warmer and the daylight hours increase, specialty shaped windows are likely to be more on your customers mind.  Give them the ability to control the light, reduce the heat and protect their furnishings. It still holds true that most window covering dealers tend to leave shaped windows uncovered.  This may provide the biggest untapped market in the industry. If you are able to help your customers with increasingly popular shaped windows, you're likely to gain them as a lifelong customer.

There is a tendency to believe that it is a limited group of Hunter Douglas products that may be used to treat  arches, trapezoids, angles, bays and other shapes.  But take a look at this wide array of products that have options that will help you get into shaped windows.

Alouette Light Louvers
Alouette Light Lovers may not come in specialty shapes, but they can certainly be used for some specialty applications.  Take a wide Palladian arch window, for example.  Alouette Light Louvers can cover a span of up to 84 inches with just one bracket at each end.  No center support is required. This allows you to cover the rectangular portion of the window and leave the top arched portion of the window uncovered.  Or, as pictured on the left, Alouette can be used in the rectangular portion of an arched window and coordinated with a Duette  shade above,

Brilliance® Pleated Shades
Pleated shades also offer privacy for windows with angled tops, angled sides, half-circle arches, circles and other specialty shapes.
Duette® Honeycomb Shades
Absolutely the most versatile product for specialty shaped windows. Duette shades offer superior insulation and all kinds of light control options for circles, half-circle arches, quarter-circle arches, angles, arches and even the most unusual specialty shapes.

A more limited selection of specialty shape solutions is available in the Applause Honeycomb Shade line.

Heritance® Hardwood Shutters
These shutters offer superb hardwood beauty and craftsmanship for window walls and doors and are now available in arches
.  Heritance Hardwood Shutters may also be used for bay and bow windows applications.
Latitude® Arch Window Treatments
They look like wood but are crafted into a sunburst arch from light and affordable PVC material. The arch has moveable louvers and its color can coordinate with Vinylbilt Shutters and many Hunter Douglas window fashions.
Country Woods Wood Blinds
Country Woods blinds offer fixed slat treatments for arches, circles and angles.  As an option the ends of the slats may be rounded to improve the light control and appearance on arched windows. Moveable slat options are available for some angled windows as well.
Luminette® Privacy Sheers
Luminette can be used in applications as shown to treat just the rectangular portion of arched windows.  Luminette also provides a great look for bay windows
(See previous tip).
Provenance® Woven Wood Shades.
These highly textural shades have an angled top application and are available in a rich assortment of bamboo, reeds, slats and grasses.
Silhouette® Window Shadings.
Fabric vanes suspended between sheer fabric facings provide light control and privacy. Silhouette is offered in curved and top-sloped applications for arches and angled windows.
Vertical Blinds.
Hunter Douglas offers a curved track that makes our vertical blinds great for Arches, bay and rounded windows. Elegant fabric, vinyl and aluminum styles work for angled windows too.
