Since the beginning, Luminette Privacy Sheers have been the easiest of all vertical/sheer combinations to install with no vanes to insert into fabric pockets, no snaps or clips to hold the sheer fabric to the vanes. All you really have to do is mount the SofTrak™ headrail and attach the unique Privacy Sheer fabric. There's really nothing else like Luminette. Recently some changes have been made to the various brackets used with Luminette that make it easier than ever to install the SofTrak headrail

At first glance the brackets look about the same but look closely and you'll see modifications have been made to the mounting clamp on the installation bracket. It will stay open allowing insertion and removal of the headrail. You no longer need to physically hold the clamp out of the way. In addition, both bracket types have been strengthened. This will eliminate breakage that can happen when headrail is removed. The pictures above show the wall mount bracket used for outside mount installations. The ceiling bracket has been changed in the same way. Both brackets and the spacer block used with the wall mount bracket have been significantly increased in strength without much change to the external appearance so improved parts may be interchanged with current parts. You may notice a slight difference in thickness at the bottom of the new parts when they are attached to the previous parts, but this is a normal and acceptable difference. The parts are completely compatible with each other. All three parts will be introduced as a running change so there may be times when you receive a combination of the old and new components. The new components should be completely in place by the end of December 2004.
Bracket Placement Recommendation For Luminette Privacy Sheers This isn't completely by the book, but it's a slight change that will keep the Luminette with PowerGlide™ door open to you on every Luminette installation. Install brackets for any Luminette in 4" from the end as recommended in the Luminette with PowerGlide Installation and Care Instructions. That way, if your customer later decides to upgrade to Luminette with PowerGlide, you can simply change out the SofTrak headrail without having to move your brackets to allow for the motor. Hands up! Here's a quick way to estimate bracket placement 4" in from the end. The average man's hand is about 4" across at the widest point. For women, the average hand is a bit smaller. Check your hand. For most men, 4" is just about right. If your hand is a little larger or smaller you can easily estimate the difference and find the spot that's just right for quickly placing Luminette end brackets.
