A Preview of New Silhouette Top-Down/Bottom-Up with
TiltAnywhere™ Feature

Silhouette sure has come a long way.  Now it operates in almost any direction with a new option that allows you to lower the shading from the top, lift it from the bottom — or both!  Better still, this option gives you the ability to tilt the vanes with the shading in any position. As with all Silhouette shadings, there are still no cords obstruct the view to the outside!

The unique and versatile hardware application is the key to this great new option.  It allows the product to do what no other product can.  The shading is operated top-down using the looped cord, which is also used to tilt the vanes no matter what position the rails are in.

The bottom rail is easily raised and lowered by hand, similarly to Hunter Douglas LiteRise™ shades.

The Silhouette® Top-Down/Bottom-Up (TDBU) product comes in the 2" vane size and is available in the A15 Tres Vue™ fabric. It’s offered in 12 colors in a new fabric, Tres Vue. The selections directly match the twelve most popular colors in the Originale line. The biggest difference between a standard Silhouette and TDBU is that the fabric rolls into the bottom rail for TDBU vs the top in a standard shading, so the bottom rail is about the same size as the headrail.

Basic Specifications & Measuring
Silhouette® TDBU shadings are designed for Standard Rectangular Windows up to 72" wide by 84" high.

The Minimum and Maximum ordered widths are 24" and 72", respectively
The Minimum and Maximum ordered heights are 18" and 84", respectively

Measuring Procedures for Silhouette® TDBU shadings are similar to those for Standard Silhouette shadings, for the most part. They’re outlined here:

Measure the width and height of the window opening Check for an out-of-square window opening by measuring and comparing both diagonal measurements.  Testing has shown that if windows are out-of-square more than 1/2", Silhouette TDBU shadings may not operate properly. Therefore, in such instances, an outside mounted Standard Rectangular Silhouette shading is recommended

Be sure to check for obstructions! This step is especially important with Silhouette TDBU shadings. Obstructions such as window cranks, side locks, or architectural features, etc. may interfere with the operation of this product. It is important that the bottom rail can move up and down freely and that the window sill brackets are used

Care & Cleaning
Recommended cleaning options for Silhouette® TDBU shadings are the same as those for Standard Silhouette shadings except that ultrasonic cleaning is not recommended. other than that, Dust with a feather duster or low suction hand-held vacuum; Use a can of compressed air to clear debris from vanes
Do not use electrostatic cleaning wipes; or Professionally clean using dry cleaning injection/extraction method.
