Duette EasyRise™ — The Original Special Lift system.
Recent Changes Keep It Working Well For All Pleat Sizes.

Duette honeycomb shades with EasyRise have been around for a long time, but they've kept up with the times, too.  Recently two completely new EasyRise systems were introduced. One for the 3/8" and 1/2" pleat sizes, and another for the newest pleat size, the 1¼" Majestic.  The original EasyRise is still used with the 3/4" pleat fabrics. So we actually have three different systems that all go under the name EasyRise.  Sounds complicated, but it really isn't. To order all you only need to know is one name— EasyRise. You will receive the system that is appropriate to the shade fabric you order.

There are a few differences between the systems though, and it will be necessary to know them to install your Duette shades with EasyRise.

Cords or Tapes
The biggest difference between the systems is that the system used for 1/2" and 3/8" fabrics uses a controlled cord system while the larger systems use a controlled flat tape.  The picture at right is to demonstrate the difference.  Both systems keep the cords and tapes completely contained to prevent problems.

With the different headrail sizes the brackets are different, too. The brackets that currently ship with EasyRise® products have been designed to accommodate mounting the reversible EasyRise® headrails from the front or back.  Current brackets can be identified by the "00" stamped into the bracket. The original bracket design will not accommodate the new headrail when it is positioned with the curved side to the front.
While you will be able to get the headrail into the bracket, it will be virtually impossible to remove it.
See previous tip.

Installation
To install the EasyRise® headrail, once the brackets are in place have the front of the headrail facing you. Lower the shade slightly so the fabric will not get caught between the headrail and the bracket.

Installing the Headrail for
1/2" and 3/8" Pleats
Insert the lip at the top of the headrail into the groove on front of the bracket.  Push forward until the bottom back groove snaps into place.

If you have installed a lot of EasyRise shades over the years, this will seem upside-down to you. In fact it is upside down from the way the other EasyRise systems are attached (as shown below).

Installing the Headrail for
¾" and 1¼" Pleats
Insert the back lip on the bottom of the headrail into the groove on the bottom of the bracket.
Check to make sure no fabric is trapped between the headrail and bracket.

Push forward on the front of the headrail until the top groove snaps into place as shown.

Cord Tensioners
For all EasyRise shades, Cord Tensioners must be installed to reduce strangulation risks associated with non-tethered looped cords. The Cord Tensioners are color coordinated to the headrail color. They can be mounted directly to the side of the window frame, if there is enough depth on inside mounts. The minimum depth for this type of installation, without its interfering with the operation of the shading, is 7/8". If there is not enough mounting depth for inside mount, use the " inside/outside attachment" as shown.  Outside mount tensioners attach flat against the wall surface. Make sure the loop is attached securely.

Important Measuring Note
When measuring for EasyRise shades that will be outside mounted, the headrail will be 3/4" wider than the ordered width. See previous tip.
Note: with UltraGlide®, and LiteRise® shades the headrail will be equal to the ordered width for outside mounts.

Measure the width at the bottom, middle and top and use the widest measurement.  Discuss overlaps with the homeowner when measurements are taken. A standard 2" overlap on the sides is recommended.  If there is trim present, make sure your trim-to-trim measurements are adequate to provide privacy.
