New Installation For Luminette® Privacy Sheers...
These Changes Will Keep You Riveted!

You'll notice some "riveting" changes in the installation of Luminette Privacy Sheers you receive starting now.  The rivets that hold the swivel plates that hold the sheers in place are now attached in an easier way.  The rivets are now simply snapped in to the bulkhead (above left) on the active end.  On the other side of the sheer the rivets and the swivel plate are snapped into the swivel arm in the same way. The rivets are now shipped attached to the swivel plates, which protects them from damage and makes them literally a snap to install.

Improved Swivel Plate
In conjunction with the changes on the rivet, the redesigned swivel plate (pictured above right) now holds more securely with a tighter grip around the rivet. This is to prevent any separation of the end treatments once attached to the headrail.

Previously, the rivets were permanently attached to the bulkhead and swivel arm as shown in the drawing at right from the old Installation Instructions.

The rivets were sometimes damaged in shipping or during the installation process.  This new method is considerably more reliable and less prone to damage.

Installing The Swivel Plates
These illustrations from the new Luminette Installation Instructions show how the swivel plate is attached to the bulkhead and then to the swivel arm.

New Integrated Bushings

But that's not all that has changed in the installation of Luminette.  This one should make most installers happy.  The bushings that are required for installing the first spacer block required for an outside mount have been redesigned and will be much easier to install.  The bushing now fits snuggly into the back of the spacer block. The mounting screws are then placed through the faceplate and bushings.  So now the bracket can be easily held in place with just one hand (so you can use the drill with the other) and attached to the wall or mounting surface.

The OLD Way
It looked a lot easier in this illustration
than it ever really was to accomplish
The NEW Way
The bushings are integrated with the bracket.  Much easier!
