Making
It All Fit Together!
Counterparts® is a way to make it easy to combine Luminette Privacy
Sheers® and Silhouette® window shadings in the same room by
quickly narrowing your choices. When used together these two
products can bring a coordinated feeling and an even quality of
light to a room with windows of different shapes and sizes.
This coordinated effort provides a great unified look that is far
better than most combinations of vertical and horizontal products.
So,
Counterparts is perfect for rooms that have a combination of windows
and doors —or different shaped windows. Though the construction of
these two products is similar, each gets its coloring in a different
way. For Luminette sheers it is the sheer fabric that is
colored, the vanes are always white. For Silhouette, though,
the vanes carry the coloring and are softened by the sheer facing,
which is always white. Additionally, the way light and shadows
show on a horizontal product like Silhouette shadings will be
considerably different than the way
they look on a vertical product like Luminette sheers.
These
factors make it important to set your customers expectations from
the start that though these products will be well-coordinated, there
are some visible differences between them. One great way to
reduce the differences is to use the three-inch vane version of
Silhouette shadings. The separation of vanes on a three-inch
Silhouette shading is very similar to the distance between vanes on
Luminette sheers.
Here's
How CounterParts Makes it Easy!
The CounterParts program separates
the colors of Luminette Privacy Sheers and Silhouette window
shadings into five separate color groups —White, Off-White, Ecru,
Beige, Blush. This makes the color selection much easier by pre-selecting
the closest colors

So,
when you and your customer have chosen the color in one product, say
the seclusion white in Silhouette as shown here, your choices in
Luminette are immediately taken to the best coordinated colors,
rather than trying to pick them out from the whole product
line. Notice that it is not intended for you to necessarily
follow across the same line for the best coordination, rather it
narrows those choices. You still have to choose the fabric and color
that fits best according to design variables such as other
furnishings and light flow.
It's
Everywhere You Need It To Be
—Including Right Here!
The CounterPoints reference tool is contained within each the
Silhouette and Luminette sample kits. You'll also find it in the
Hunter Douglas Price and Reference Guide, in both the Silhouette and
Luminette sections. And, here's another one, if you need and
extra copy, just take about a
minute or less to download this CounterParts Coordination
Chart (requires Adobe
Acrobat).
You
can print
copies of this chart so you'll have an extra copy wherever you need
it.
So
each of these products does its part, now it's up to you.
Present these two products together whenever you encounter a room
that needs to combine a horizontally and vertically oriented window
fashions that look great together.
