Frequently Asked Questions* About Eccenture™ Valances

(*and answers, too!)

The new Eccenture™ custom valance collection that is included with Innerstyle™ vertical blinds is getting a lot of attention.  Here are some of the most frequently asked questions —and, even better, the answers, too.

Q. Can I add a dust cover to the Eccenture™ Valance?

A. Adding a dust cover to the Eccenture Valance is easy. Place a piece of curved ivory PVC, cut to the correct length, on top of the mounting brackets. The front edge of the PVC should slide under the rear edge of the Eccenture Valance. The width of the PVC can be cut to accommodate various depths.

Q. I want my Eccenture Valance returns to provide clearance over a 5” molding. What length returns should I order?

A. The Eccenture return length is measured from the inside leading edge of the trim to the wall. A standard outside mount will have a return with an overall length of 5 ½”. This length return will clear a 4 ½” obstruction.. To provide clearance for your 5” molding, please order 6” returns.

Q. I would like to put an Eccenture Valance over my horizontal blinds. Can I order just the Eccenture Valance?

A. Sure! The Eccenture Valance can be used with many other Hunter Douglas Window Treatments. When you place your order with Designer Blinds, select the insert material you would like to use and set your price using the Eccenture Valance Only section on the corresponding price grid.

Q. How do I attach the Eccenture Valance to my Pleated Shade or other Hunter Douglas Window Treatment?

A. Designer Blinds will supply all required mounting hardware with your Eccenture Valance order. You must specify if you are mounting the valance inside or outside the window opening as well as the return length you would like (see the question about return lengths above). The mounting brackets will attach the valance to the window frame or to the wall separately from your window covering.

Q. I want to use my own insert material in the Eccenture Valance. Which price grid do I use for the Eccenture Valance without insert material?

A. To purchase the Eccenture Valance without insert material, use the Eccenture Valance Only pricing shown on Price Group 4 in the InnerStyle™ Retail Reference Guide. (Also on page 16.1 in recently updated pages to the Hunter Douglas Reference & Price Guide). An additional labor charge may be applied. Contact Designer Blinds customer service with complete details.

Q. My customer wants to purchase a Masquerade® Valance. I cannot find pricing in the Innerstyle™ Reference Guide. How do I price the Masquerade Valance?

A. The Masquerade Valance can be purchased with the products shown in the Innerstyle™ Sample Book. Use the appropriate Eccenture Valance price grid. For best results use the information contained in the Hunter Douglas Price & Reference Guide specific to Masquerade Valance. Be sure to specify "Masquerade Valance" when placing your order with Designer Blinds.
