Great
Expectations!

For a great reaction to Silhouette® window shadings: Meet your customer's expectations —but do it during the sales process.

Silhouette® window shadings are a completely new idea to most of your customers.  By taking a few minutes up front to point out the natural characteristics of Silhouette® shadings, your customers will know just what to expect. Here are some things that should be discussed:

First, remember that Silhouette® shadings are textile products. Their fabric is subject to the same variations associated with all textiles. The fabric will change as its position changes. Slight wrinkles, puckers or other variations can appear and are inherent to this textile product.

To ensure customer satisfaction, set the expectations of your customers when you’re selling the product. The beauty of Silhouette shadings is like any work of textile art. As such, variations should be expected and will be visible under certain circumstances, as shown below.

Slight waviness in the vane material may be visible when the vanes are open and outside light is passing through the vanes.

In the evening, with the vanes closed, reflective room light may show slight waves in the fabric.  This is normal and deemed acceptable quality

The new point d'esprit pattern of Jolie™
fabric may not always be aligned perfectly
with the vanes. again, this is normal for
this fabric.

Shown above is an open-vane comparison of the two-inch vane (left) and the three-inch vane (right).  Three-inch vanes provide a clearer view through the shading.  Note, too, that the vanes of the Bon Soir™ fabric do NOT open as wide as other Silhouette® fabrics.

Other characteristics of Silhouette® window shadings include:

View through open vanes:  this varies with vane size and type of fabric; for example, Bon SoirTM two-inch vanes open only to approximately one inch, while Originale™ two-inch vanes may open as wide as one and a half inches.

Closure: To retain their dimensionality, Silhouette vanes are not designed to close tightly (most noticeable at the bottom of a shading); the vane overlap ensures that privacy is not compromised.  (read more about it HERE)

Vane Alignment: If shadings are ordered at the same time, with identical color and height, vane alignment can be guaranteed within a quarter of an inch.

Optimal Hardware Design: allows the same aesthetic look for shadings with either two-inch or three-inch vane sizes; the three-inch vane fabric, however, will narrow slightly at the headrail and bottom rail.

Bottom Rail For Three-Inch Shadings: For maximum view through three-inch vanes, the bottom rail pivots up so that its underside is visible when the vanes are fully open. Shown here is the slight narrowing when the three-inch vane fabric attaches to the bottom rail, as well as the pivoting of the rail when the vanes are fully open.
